Tottenham Hotspur- You Have to Laugh

If everything goes pear shaped at Tottenham (as well it might, since despite heavy investment they aren’t even doing as well as last season), manager Martin Jol must be comforted by the knowledge that at least he will have alternative career options. And if he is reluctant for some reason to exploit his obvious talent for Godfather voiceovers, there is always the possibility of stand-up comedy. His latest gag, the one about Spurs being close to Arsenal, instantly had Gunners fans helpless with laughter, and no-one had the heart to point out that in the real world the only way Spurs can be close to Arsenal is geographically. Their football is clearly poles apart and as for the two managers, the distance is so vast it’s almost immeasurable. Still, the important thing is that Martin Jol has proved that he can make people laugh. Well, some of them anyway. All he needs now is better material.
