It is understood that those splendid chaps at the F.A. are planning to have a look at Manchester City full back Michael Balls stamp in the stomach of Cristiano Ronaldo and Fulham midfielder Michael Browns headbutt on Xabi Alonso and possibly even mete out a spot of retrospective justice.
What a comfort it is to learn that the disciplinary committee at Soho Square can spare a little time from the onerous responsibility of thinking up new ways to fine Arsene Wenger for talking sense in order to give some long overdue attention to disgraceful challenges that do nothing whatsoever to enhance the image of the game, or the safety of its players.
