Arsenal Star Milton Dies
Arsenal fans of a certain generation will be saddened to learn of the death of Arthur Milton, a popular and talented winger in the early 1950s, when he made 84 appearances, scoring 21 times and winning a First Division Championship medal with the Gunners.
Milton, who died at home in Bristol aged 79, was the last man to represent his country at both football and cricket. A former captain of Gloucestershire, he scored over 32,000 first class runs and made six test appearances in the late 1950s, by which time he had left Arsenal and signed for his local club, Bristol City.
