Alex Gets Arsene's Vote

Much has been made in the past about the longstanding feud between Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger, but in the light of recent events and comments from a little Portuguese interpreter in South West London it is becoming increasingly apparent that this is no more sinister than the kind of rivalry you would expect from the proud and fiercely competitive managers of the two best teams in the country.

Clearly, the real feud is between Sir Alex and Mourinho, as the Chelsea manager’s outrageous comments about injuries, penalties and the integrity of Cristiano Ronaldo eloquently demonstrate.

And anyone who doubts that for a moment should bear in mind that Arsene Wenger has generously acknowledged to the media that he considers the outstanding candidates for Manager of the Year are Steve Coppell, who has done wonders with promoted Reading, and Sir Alex himself. Praise indeed – though absolutely no-one expects the undisputed Moaner of the Year to agree.
