Like a Red Rag.....
Nobody could accuse Manchester United captain Gary Neville of restraint and decorum in his celebrations after their 1-0 victory over bitter rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford.
On the final whistle he hared over to the Liverpool fans and stood before them legs astride, arms pumping, eyes popping, screaming Yes! repeatedly and ostentatiously kissing the United badge.
Judge for yourself whether this was a piece of innocent over-exuberance or an act of calculated provocation perpetrated by a player whose antipathy towards Scousers is well documented. Certainly it was enough to provoke a written complaint from Manchester police and an F.A. charge of improper conduct.
The case continues.
